Why most presentation training doesn't change how people actually present

IWG Institute's Presentation Performance Training is a practical coaching program designed for professionals who present in English or Finnish in high-stakes situations. Unlike generic presentation skills courses, this program works with the participant's real presentations — the ones they are actually going to give. The coaching follows a three-phase structure: Build the presentation, Rehearse it under realistic conditions, and Perform it with confidence. Training is available as B2B group programs, 1:1 coaching, online, onsite or in a hybrid mode.

Most professionals know the theory of good presentations. They have sat through slide design workshops and watched TED Talks. But when they stand in front of a board, a client, or a room of international stakeholders — in English or Finnish — the gap between what they know and what they do becomes visible. The nerves surface. The structure collapses. The impact doesn't land.

Generic presentation training teaches frameworks and tips. IWG Institute's Presentation Performance Training coaches actual performance — working with the real presentations participants need to give, in the real language they need to use, under realistic conditions that build the skills that transfer to the actual moment.

    • Opening a presentation that commands attention from the first sentence
    • Structuring complex content so audiences can follow and remember it
    • Delivering with confidence, clarity, and presence — not just reading from slides
    • Handling Q&A under pressure, including hostile or unexpected questions
    • Managing nerves and projecting authority in high-stakes situations
    • Adapting delivery style for different audiences: board, client, technical, international
    Program structure

Three phases. One real presentation. Lasting performance change.

    PHASE 1
    BUILD
    Structure, Message & Language

Work with a real presentation the participant needs to give. Build a clear, compelling structure. Develop the key messages and the exact language to deliver them with impact.

    PHASE 2
    REHEARSE
    Delivery, Presence & Q&A

Rehearse the presentation under realistic conditions with a coach. Work on delivery, voice, pacing, and presence. Practise handling questions — including difficult ones.

    PHASE 3
    PERFORM
    Final Performance & Debrief

Deliver the full presentation to a coach audience under real or near-real conditions. Receive detailed feedback. Leave with a personal development plan for the next high-stakes presentation.

Each coaching program is built around the participant's actual upcoming presentations. The language, content, and delivery challenges addressed are real — not simulated.
