Business Chinese: Beginner 3. Ready for Working Life.
Business Chinese: Beginner 3 is the final course in IWG Institute's three-part foundational series, consolidating the skills built in Beginner 1 and 2 and preparing participants for more independent, work-focused communication. The course is taught in Finnish and strengthens the ability to express oneself with greater accuracy and nuance: forming more complex sentences, discussing past and future plans, giving opinions and simple explanations, and following short conversations and texts without heavy support. Vocabulary and characters expand further, with an increasing share drawn directly from professional and business contexts, and cultural competence is deepened with attention to hierarchy, etiquette, and relationship-building norms. Available as B2B group courses, 1:1 coaching, or onsite programs at the company's premises, including Helsinki, Espoo, Tampere, Turku, Oulu, Jyväskylä, Vaasa, Kuopio, Lahti, or fully online.
Where a foundation becomes a working capability
A foundation is only worth what can be built on it. By the end of Beginner 2, participants can communicate in everyday situations and read and write a working set of characters — but the language is still effortful, still reliant on support, and still largely general rather than professional. Beginner 3 closes that gap. It is the course where the pieces consolidate into something participants can carry into their working life with genuine confidence.
The course strengthens accuracy and nuance: more complex sentence structures, discussing past experiences and future plans, giving opinions and simple explanations, and following short conversations and texts without heavy support. Vocabulary and characters expand further, with an increasing share drawn directly from professional and business contexts — including the language needed to describe one's own company, products or services with reasonable detail. Cultural competence is deepened, with attention to the hierarchy, etiquette and relationship-building norms that shape working relationships with Chinese-speaking colleagues, clients and partners. All instruction is in Finnish.

Professionals completing the foundation and preparing for working-life Chinese
This course assumes a foundation in Mandarin equivalent to Business Chinese: Beginner 1 and 2 — connected everyday communication, a working set of characters that participants can read and write, and an understanding of Chinese politeness levels. Participants who learned Chinese elsewhere and are unsure whether their level fits can contact IWG Institute for a brief assessment. Instruction is entirely in Finnish.
